Pressured to Change
Upgrade now and get a discount to deliver new workloads
From 1st October 2005, IBM will withdraw the upgrade path for customers with 270,
820, 830 and 840 iSeries systems.
From that date forward the only path available will be to purchase a new IBM i5
server to replace an existing system.
If you are considering upgrading a system at some point in the future then let Syan
show you how you can save costs by doing it now.
Power5 Technology
The new i5 servers give astonishing price/performance and have a smaller footprint
so you should be pleasantly surprised at how much power you can get for your money.
What's more astonishing is that, with POWER5 technology, you can run an even wider
variety of workloads on the same, trusted and reliable system - Lotus Domino,
Windows, Linux, AIX, not to mention
the integration of WebSphere technology.
IBM is investing heavily in the POWER5 technology and is keen to encourage customers
to use the new capabilities of the i5 servers.
