AOS Change Manager
This flexible and easy to use module controls software and hardware changes
in an secure and easily monitored way and can make significant contribution
to an organisation's quality regime.
Benefits
- Reduced risk of errors since changes are managed more effectively
- Solid basis for quality programme for use of user-defined life cycles
- Improved control and consistency through enforced standards for changes
- Elimination of human intervention for implementing software changes
- Fail-safe route provided for software upgrades
- Ability to schedule when the changes should be implemented via interface
into AOS Schedule Manager
AOS Change Manager Highlights
Control of Application Software
In controlling application software, the module monitors source code and
objects at all stages of the software development life cycle, from initial
requests through development, implementation and post-implementation support.
Extensive reporting and enquiring capabilities provide details of projects
and their progress through the change cycle.
Enforced Standards for changes via user-defined 'routes'
Routes through the development process can be defined in AOS Change Manager
as part of an overall quality procedure. Each route contains 'from' environment,
a 'to' environment and instructions which define how objects will progress
from one stage to the next.
Changes can only be made by users who meet the pre-defined management
parameters and have been given the ability to authorise the change. Each
step on a route can have its own list of users authorised to sign off
a change.
Fail-safe route for software upgrades
Since AOS Change Manager controls all aspects of promoting changes from
one state to the next, it can also reverse changes, restoring the system
to its original state, thereby providing a fail-safe route for upgrades.
Workload Allocation
The module also has the ability to monitor resources like development
and support staff. This facility may be used to allocate work to resources
in such a way as to avoid overload situations.
Integral part of complete automation strategy
Changes identified by AOS change manager may be scheduled through AOS
scheduling manager as part of a Complete Automation Strategy. Multiple
systems maybe addressed, with changes in applied to more than one machine
via a single request.
